This man should be ashamed of himself!!! Aside from being the Imperial Irrigation District Director, Anthony Sanchez also coaches youth t-ball & soccer. I wonder how many other youths he’s taught in this manner?? What happened to positive reinforcement??? Beating a kid with a belt for dropping the fricken ball??? Really…… & to top it off, there’s been NO charges as of yet. Guess they need more time to investigate to determine if that was considered abuse or child endangerment. It’s quite ridiculous if you ask me.

I do thank Oscar Lopez (the neighbor who filmed the footage) for stepping in & saying something to this father & bringing this to the officials attention. Oscar said, “He didn’t start taping from the beginning of the incident, as he thought it was the parents’ right to discipline their child. He’s heard raised voices, then the ball hitting the fence behind the kid. However, it got outta line.”

Don’t get me wrong, I’m all about DISCIPLINING your child. I was raised the “ole school” ways, so I know about spankings. But there is a definite line between disciplining & abusing. Mr. Sanchez was clearly frustrated & took the frustration out on his step-son for not performing the way that he felt he should have. Any parent knows to approach disciplining with a calm, clear head. Keep that in mind next time Mr. Sanchez!
